Miranda & her “Warrior Mom Era”
I am 41 years old and live in Maryland with my husband and twin 11 year-old boys, and a menagerie of animals. I love reading, gardening and spending time in nature.
My son was diagnosed with T-Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia in March 2021 at 7 years of age. He finished 3.5 long years of treatment in July 2024 at 11 years of age.
I am no stranger to death and grief.
My father died of AIDS when I was 10 years old. After that, it was just me and my mom. So, my grandparents moved in with us. My Pop-Pop took over the fatherly role in my life.
Time passed and I grew up and started a family of my own.
My Pop-Pop developed many health issues, including dementia, so we decided that the best course of action was to all be under one roof again. I had the privilege of helping take care of him until his death in March 2023.
Six months later, my mother-in-law was diagnosed with a rare form of neuroendocrine cancer called carcinoid. Eventually, she was not able to care for herself on her own, so she moved in with us. Once again, I had the privilege of being a caregiver for her until her death in December 2024.
I am looking forward to using the knowledge and resources that I have gained to help others who are walking this same path.
The best way to contact me is by text or phone.
